Moonstone of Mona

Gem — cut stones: mined ones set into jewellery, raid ones into weapon sockets. It is dropped by The Grove of Mona.

What it is for

Setting it

A socket stone. It does nothing in your pouch: it has to be set into a weapon that has a socket, and then it gives +3 to hit for as long as it stays there.

The chain is three separate things, and you need all three. The weapon mastery of that weapon opens the right to buy a socket; Crypt Marks earned in dungeons pay for cutting it; and the stone itself drops from a raid boss. Take the weapon to the Forge to do both steps — it may be the one you are wearing, as long as you are not in the middle of a dungeon. Prying a stone back out costs marks but always returns the stone, so trying one is never a loss.
