Britannia
The empire's northernmost frontier, past the cold sea. The game's second continent picks up where Latium leaves off: its first shore opens at level 45, and crossing the sea raises the level cap from 50 to 65.
Getting there
Britannia is reached by sea. Leave the city through the City Gate, walk down to the harbour in the countryside and board the ship — the Orbis Terrarum opens with every charted continent on it. The crossing is free and instant, and nothing you own stays behind: gear, gold, professions and guild all travel with you. Come back the same way whenever you like.
The four zones
The band overlaps Latium on purpose: the first Britannia zone opens 5 levels before the old cap, so the crossing is a choice rather than a wall.
| Zone | Opens at | Boss |
|---|---|---|
| Rutupiae Landing Salt marsh and shingle, and the rotting ribs of the ships that brought them. |
Level 45 | The Tide Warden (melee) |
| Silva Anderida Oak older than the road, and rites the road never stopped. |
Level 50 | The Green Rite (magic) |
| Vallum Aelium Eighty miles of stone, and not enough men left to watch it. |
Level 55 | Brennus the Painted (melee) |
| Caledonian Highlands Past the last milecastle, where the empire simply stopped. |
Level 60 | The Hooded One (magic) |
Group content
Mithraeum of the Ninth (dungeon, level 52) — a solo gate against Aquilifer of the Ninth, level 56.
The Grove of Mona (raid, level 60) — a trinity band of 4 against Arch-Druid of Mona, level 65. Its antechamber is Caledonian Highlands: every 12 kills there press one Sigil of Mona, which buys an extra full-reward clear of this raid — see Raids for how sigils work.
Boss uniques
Every boss on the continent carries one unique it can drop alongside its normal loot.
| Unique | Slot | Dropped by |
|---|---|---|
| Trident of the Tide Warden | weapon | The Tide Warden |
| Pharos Hood | helmet | The Tide Warden |
| Sickle of the Green Rite | weapon | The Green Rite |
| Warhorn of Brennus | offhand | Brennus the Painted |
| Cairnstone of the Hooded | amulet | The Hooded One |
| Aquila of the Ninth | offhand | Aquilifer of the Ninth |
| Torc of Mona | ring | Arch-Druid of Mona |
What the crossing changes
Talent points slow down. You earn one point per level up to level 50 (41 points), and one every other level after that — 48 in total at the cap. The frontier pays in half-rations; see Talents.
Latium fades behind you. Rewards fall off steeply once a monster is far below your level, so the old zones stop paying their way as you climb the new band. The zone list always shows where your level stands.
