Quests

Quests are the game's daily shape: 3 of them each day and 2 each week, drawn for you rather than picked. They are not a separate activity — every one of them is completed by playing something you were going to play anyway.

Daily and weekly

The daily set rolls over at midnight Helsinki time and the weekly set at the turn of the ISO week — the same clock as everything else (see Schedule). Your set is drawn deterministically from your character and the date, so it is the same set whenever you open it, and rerolling is a decision rather than a slot machine: you get 1 reroll per day.

A weekly asks for roughly as much as a daily and pays about as much — slightly better per unit of work, because a week-long target cannot be topped up on the last evening.

What you can be asked to do

TaskFrom levelDailyWeekly
Defeat enemies in a named zone 1 yes yes
Win duels in the Arena 5 yes yes
Defeat hard or boss monsters 1 yes yes
Complete work shifts 1 yes
Spend expedition points 1 yes yes
Gather materials 1 yes yes
Craft items 1 yes yes
Break items down at the Forge 8 yes yes
Clear a dungeon 10 yes yes
Clear a raid 15 yes
Complete Laborum shifts 1 yes yes
Carry a shift to its third stint 1 yes

Two of these are weekly only, and for the same reason: a work shift blocks fighting while it runs, and a raid is designed around coordinating a band even though its room can start short. Neither is something a day can promise you.

The weekly set also carries one fixed extra slot for Ladon: strike the world boss 10 times. It is never a daily, because Ladon is only alive two hours a day — a week gives you seven windows to find one in.

What they pay

Each quest carries a reward weight u for how much it asks. The payout is read at the moment you claim it, from your level and charisma then:

  • gold = (20 + 8 × level) × u × (1 + 0.5 % per charisma point)
  • experience = (15 + 6 × level) × u

At level 20 that is 180 gold and 135 experience per unit before charisma. Claiming late is claiming better: the level used is the one you have when you claim, not the one you had when the quest was drawn.

The daily bonus

Claim all 3 dailies in a day and you get one extra item roll on top. It cannot roll common:

RarityChance
uncommon 55 %
rare 30 %
epic 12 %
legendary 2.5 %
mythic 0.5 %

This all-dailies roll and the login streak's day-7 roll share the same odds. They are the two completion rewards where mythic is reachable without a boss, the Forge or the premium cache — see Drop rates and Daily Rewards.

Chains

Beside the rolling sets there are fixed chains — sagas — that run once and then are done. Each step's exact target and pay is on that page.

ChainStepsFinishes with
The Making of a Gladiator
Spend 20 expedition points scouting the wilds → Defeat 5 hard or boss monsters → Win 5 arena duels
3 500 gold, 400 XP and one epic item
A Tradesman's Fortune
Gather materials 30 times → Complete 3 shifts of 4 hours or longer → Gather materials 60 more times
3 800 gold, 300 XP and one rare item

Each profession has an introductory chain of its own — its steps and rewards are documented on that profession's page — and the 9-book story campaign runs the length of the zone ladder — that one has its own page, The Long Road.

Quest progress is counted server-side from the same events that pay experience, so anything that counts for a quest counted the moment it happened — there is nothing to claim twice and nothing to lose by logging out.
