Work

Work shifts trade time for gold and materials. You pick a job and a shift length; while it runs you cannot fight or train, and the pay lands when you collect. A city trade shift is the other use of that same slot: it pays profession XP plus an apprentice's wage — less gold than a paid job of the same length, but the skill is yours.

Stable Hand Level 1 1 h, 2 h, 4 h goat-hide, game-meat
Wine Carrier Level 5 2 h, 4 h, 8 h mint, thyme
City Guard Level 12 4 h, 8 h copper-ore, iron-ore
Scribe Level 20 4 h, 8 h, 12 h glimmer-dust, arcane-essence
Arena Caretaker Level 30 8 h, 12 h, 24 h boar-hide, red-meat, agate

Pay scales with your level and charisma; longer shifts pay a better rate per hour.

Profession apprenticeship shifts

Each Helsinki day the city offers 3 professions, the same selection for everyone. Choose one of the current offers for a 6-hour or 12-hour apprenticeship. The completed shift pays profession XP at your current skill plus an apprentice's gold wage based on your current level and charisma. The preview in Work shows both amounts before you commit.

Exact apprenticeship rewards

Longer apprenticeships use a duration multiplier: 6 h ×1.04, 12 h ×1.06. The completed rewards are rounded to whole numbers:

  • Profession XP = round(hours × 100 × duration multiplier × (0.9 + 0.002 × current skill)). Current skill is clamped to 1–100 for this calculation.
  • Gold = round(hours × (15 + 5 × level) × duration multiplier × 0.35 × (1 + 0.005 × Charisma)).

An apprenticeship uses the same single slot as a paid job. While either kind of shift is active you cannot start another shift, fight, use the Arena or buy stat points at Training. The offer changing at midnight does not cancel a shift already under way. Cancelling a shift clears the slot immediately but forfeits its progress and rewards; a completed shift keeps the slot occupied until you collect it.
