The Long Road
A 12-book campaign that runs the length of the zone ladder — from a stray dog on the eastern road to the bronze gate at Avernus, and on across the cold sea to the last shore facing Mona. Rome forbids burial inside her walls, so every road out of the city is lined with tombs; the north keeps its dead by other rites entirely.
Each book unlocks at its zone's level and after the previous book is finished. Chapters are claimed one at a time from The Long Road in-game; finishing a book pays a larger reward and a piece of gear. Progress is per character and one-time.
Every chapter is narrated. A chapter you have reached carries a Listen button under its opening and, once finished, under its ending in the reading log — both endings of the last chapter included. Claiming a chapter reads the ending aloud on its own; that can be turned off in the in-game Sound menu, which also holds the narrator's own volume.
The game withholds a chapter's text until you reach it. This page does not. The shorter one-time chains without a narrator — the sagas — run on the same engine and have a page of their own.
