Social & communication
Chat, whispers, friends and the Cursus Publicus live in the Social panel. Use its Friends, Guild, World and Mail tabs to find people without leaving the screen you are playing on.
Chat channels
| Channel | Who it reaches |
|---|---|
| Global | Everyone in the realm |
| Trade | Buying, selling and price checks |
| Muster | Finding a dungeon or raid band |
| Guild | Members of your guild |
| Party | Your active group |
| Whispers | One online gladiator |
Messages may contain at most 280 characters. Whispers are live messages: when the recipient is offline, chat offers to turn the text into a letter instead. Every chat line carries its server timestamp.
Linking items
Open an item you own or one of your own market listings and choose Link in chat. Item links work in every channel above, with at most 3 links in one message. A reader sees the item's current stats, affixes and comparison against their equipped gear. A listed item also shows its owner and asking price. If the exact item changes hands, the link follows it and shows its current owner, current stats and any current listing. Only an item that has been disenchanted, deleted or otherwise removed from the world is reported as no longer existing.
Friends and blocks
You can keep up to 100 friends. A friend request becomes accepted when the other gladiator accepts it; sending a request to someone who has already asked you accepts the pair directly. The list shows presence or last-seen information where available.
You can block up to 50 gladiators. Blocking someone also removes an existing friendship and prevents friend requests, letters and whispers in either direction. The blocked player receives a neutral delivery error rather than confirmation that they were blocked. Chat keeps its block list on the current connection, so a block or unblock is fully reflected in whispers after chat reconnects.
Cursus Publicus: letters
Letters reach offline players. Anyone may receive one, but player-to-player sending opens at level 8. A letter body holds up to 500 characters; a player may send 20 letters in a rolling 24-hour window. Player letters do not need a subject, while system letters may carry one.
The inbox keeps at most 50 letters, newest first, and mail is retained for 30 days. The Mail tab also shows sent letters that still exist. If a recipient burns a letter, its shared row disappears from the sent list as well.
Nuntius rival alerts
Once a day, Nuntius compares the top 100 places on the overall Level and Honor leaderboards. If a rival who stood behind you moves ahead, Nuntius may send you a private system letter naming both new ranks. New arrivals to the tracked board do not count as an overtake, and only players seen within the last 30 days are eligible for an alert.
The same rival on the same board is suppressed for 48 hours, and each daily run chooses at most one alert for a character. These letters report a ranking change; they do not alter the ladder or grant a reward. See Leaderboards for the current standings.
Presence and privacy
The World tab can only count people while chat is connected. Presence is a convenience signal, not a permanent activity log. Use a letter when delivery matters after the other player leaves.
